texasThe University of Texas Fencing Club is a competitive recreational sports club sponsored by the Department of Recreational Sports, which means we compete with other fencing organizations throughout Texas as well as at the national level. That means we have fun by fighting people with swords. We encourage competition as a means to discover the true nature of the sport. Group and individual lessons are offered from beginner to advanced levels in men's and women's foil, epee, and saber. No experience is necessary, and we provide all the equipment to start learning (previously or currently competitive fencers are encouraged to bring their own).

Visiting UsUT Fencing is a collegiate program meant for the UT-Austin community and is not open for general public attendance. However, in certain circumstances, visitors are allowed to either attend or watch practice sessions. Please contact us if you feel that your interest in attendance falls into one of the following categories:

  • developmental coaching
  • specific training regimens and instruction
  • prospective students
  • guest lecturers or similar

We will get back to you promptly!

During the Winter Break of 2009, the UT Fencing Club got a wonderful surprise from the UT Kineisiology & Health Education Department.  They renovated the FencingRoom, installed new flooring, repainted the strips (even added a few!) and the walls, and installed new lights.  It looks like a professional fencing salle now -- even if it IS still a bit irregular in shape.  Please stop by and take a look, but until you can here are some pictures:
